Early Learning Programs

Programs

The library offers a variety of programs & events for children and parents to entertain and educate. Each library has weekly storytimes for various ages full of stories, songs, rhymes and plenty of fun! Our storytimes are designed to introduce and support early literacy skills and inspire a love of reading. We also provide programming such as crafts, puppet shows, bookclubs, and more.

Play and Learn

Engaging children in five simple but powerful activities every day can help them develop early literacy skills and get ready to read. These activities are talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing. Storytime at SCCLD is the perfect opportunity to engage in all five of these activities with your child. At storytime we read books, sing songs, talk, learn about letters, and play! Remember, for babies and toddlers, playing is learning! Join us for storytime and then stay after and enjoy games, toys and activities that foster critical early literacy skills.
