Will You Be the First Santa Clara County Youth Poet Laureate?

For the first time ever, in partnership with the National Youth Poet Laureate Program, Santa Clara County is creating a Youth Poet Laureate position for poets between ages 13 - 18 years old.

Amanda Gorman, the 2021 Inauguration Poet, was the first National Youth Poet Laureate; this is a chance to participate in the program that brought her to prominence.

The Santa Clara County Youth Poet Laureate Program is a new youth-centered program to connect young writers to opportunities for performances and community collaborations. The Laureate will serve as an ambassador for literacy, arts, and youth expression with ongoing opportunities for performances, projects, and peer support.
