Free 1-on-1 Tutoring for Adults in Reading and Writing
Who can join The Reading Program?
- Adults (age 18 and up)
- Understand basic spoken English
- Read or write below high school level
- Live within Santa Clara County Library District service area
- Have a full membership SCCLD Library Card
What happens when I join The Reading Program?
- Get free learning materials, including books
- Meet with your tutor 2 hours a week for at least 6 months (choose your own schedule)
- Meet online or in-person at the library
- Get a chance to receive family literacy services:
- Family events and workshops
- Free books to build a home library
Learner Orientation Schedule
All Times are in Pacific Standard Time (PST)
Join us to learn about the Reading Program's services. This learner orientation is required for new students to learn about the program's structure, services, and expectations. During the session you will learn about the program requirements and about how this program can help you meet your goals with English.
