WHY:

Studies show school-aged children are susceptible to the so-called “Summer Slide,” where a child’s reading ability goes down when school is not in session. The best way to combat that is to continue reading and keeping the mind active.

The San Francisco 49ers are for the second straight year a partner in SCCLD’s Summer Reading Program and its efforts to promote reading at all ages. This event highlights the partnership between SCCLD and the 49ers and emphasizes both the Library’s and the 49ers’ commitment to the residents of Santa Clara County.
