Close behind with 12 mentions is The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead. In nonfiction, the book on the most lists was Say Nothing by Patrick Keefe. If you're a fan of Derry Girls and want to know more about The Troubles in Northern Ireland, it's a must-read. Taking second place in nonfiction is Carmen Maria Machado's memoir In the Dream House, which recounts her experiences with an abusive female partner.
