Public Safety Power Shutoff to Affect Portions of Santa Clara County Starting Evening of Thursday, November 17

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning starting the evening of Thursday, October 17 through Sunday, October 20. Due to strong expected winds Thursday and Friday evenings, low humidity levels and dry conditions, there is an elevated chance of fire.

As a precaution, PG&E has issued a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) warning to many Bay Area counties including Santa Clara County. The PSPS is tentatively scheduled to impact eastern Santa Clara County and Los Gatos/Los Gatos Hills down to Morgan Hill. Restoration could be as early as Saturday, weather dependent. Power outage information can be found on the PG&E website at https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/psps-updates/, opens a new window. View PG&E's map of current outages, opens a new window.

PG&E is opening a Community Resource Center in the Morgan Hill Library’s Community Room starting Friday to assist those affected by the PSPS event. It will be open Friday from 12 – 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Residents can stop by to receive information, charge their devices, etc. Details and updates will be available on the PG&E website.

The Morgan Hill Library will be open and library services available during its regularly scheduled hours. Programs that were scheduled in the Community Room Thursday-Sunday will be moved to different parts of the library, depending on availability.
