Celebrate National Library Week 2025: Drawn to the Library!

National Library Week is here, and this year, we're celebrating what truly draws us in – the vibrant, essential heart of our communities: libraries! More than just repositories of books, the library is a magnetic hub of knowledge, connection, and growth. This week, let's take a moment to appreciate the irresistible pull of libraries and the incredible impact they have on our lives, reminding us why we're all "Drawn to the Library."

What Draws You into the Library?

Is it the friendly faces of the librarians, always ready to guide you on your journey of discovery. The promise of discovering a new world within the pages of a book? The engaging programs that bring people together? For many, the library is a sanctuary, a place to escape and find solace in the world of ideas. It's a place where you can lose yourself in a story, learn a new skill, or simply connect with your community.

How to Get "Drawn to the Library" This Week:

From Monday to Thursday, look for highlights on our Facebook and Instagram pages:

Monday, April 7: Right to Read Day is a day for readers, advocates, and library lovers to take action to protect, defend, and celebrate the right to read. The American Library Association (ALA) kicks off National Library Week with the release of its State of America's Libraries Report, including the list of Top Ten Most Challenged Books.

Tuesday, April 8: National Library Workers Day, opens a new window is a day to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers.

Wednesday, April 9: National Library Outreach Day, opens a new window is a day to celebrate library outreach and the dedicated library professionals who are meeting patrons where they are. See our story below about upcoming Bookmobile visits.

Thursday, April 10: Take Action for Libraries Day is a day to rally advocates to support libraries. Learn about our library support groups and donate here. With the threat to cut federal money to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) which funds critical library services nationwide, it is important to stay informed and take action to advocate for all libraries.

Let's celebrate National Library Week 2025 by recognizing the vital role libraries play in our lives and by getting "Drawn to the Library" to discover all that they have to offer.
