Finding shelter and a place to live is an essential element to staying healthy and safe. This May, the Santa Clara County Library District is excited to promote Affordable Housing Month, as well as the many resources and services available to county residents. See below for a list of agencies and organizations related to finding and retaining affordable housing:
- Housing: County Affordable Housing Agencies
- Santa Clara County Housing Authority: Seeks to provide and inspire affordable housing solutions to enable low-income people and families in Santa Clara County to achieve financial stability and self-reliance.
- The County of Santa Clara's Office of Supportive Housing: The Office of Supportive Housing’s (OSH) mission is to increase the supply of housing and supportive housing that is affordable and available to extremely low income and /or special needs households.

- HomeFirst: Provides a variety of services and housing opportunities to the homeless and those at risk of homelessness in Santa Clara County.
- LifeMoves: LifeMoves is dedicated to helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness to return to stable housing and self-sufficiency (see their pages specifically for: Family Services, Single Adult Services, and Veteran Services)
- Destination: Home: An organization with a goal to end family homelessness by 2025, in partnership with the County of Santa Clara, City of San Jose, and the Santa Clara County Housing Authority.

- Salvation Army Silicon Valley: Overnight shelter services to homeless men at the Emmanuel House
- Housing: Rental Assistance
- Salvation Army Silicon Valley: Offers services for families, including: housing and utilities assistance, drive-thru food pantry assistance, and clothing vouchers
- Catholic Charities: This organization provides support for families and individuals facing housing instability, homelessness services, and a guide to affordable housing in the area.
- Community Services Agency: Provides social services for residents of Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills.
