So many groups across the Bay Area are already doing the work -- providing information, opportunities, and assistance to portions of the environment that need our support. These are just some of the great local organizations that are worth taking a look at: 

  • 350 Bay Area: Aims to eliminate carbon pollution and achieve a clean energy future with racial, economic, and environmental justice
  • Acterra: Creates local solutions for a healthy planet
  • Amah Mutsun Land Trust: Seeks to, among other things, conserve and protect sacred and culturally sensitive sites
  • Friends of the Urban Forest: Committed to revitalizing San Francisco's urban forest, building community, and taking a local leadership role in mitigating global environmental problems
  • Green Foothills: Aims to protect the open space, farmland, and natural resources of San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties
  • Peninsula Open Space Trust: Aims to protect open space on the Peninsula and the South Bay
