Community Resource Navigators
What Is A Navigator?
Santa Clara County Library District has trained staff who can help you find and use local services including healthcare, housing, food, legal, and money support. Community Resource Navigators can help you learn about these services. They can explain how programs work and find the right help. These staff may share the same culture, language, or life experience as the people they help.
Services We Offer
- Assessment: We listen to your needs and help figure out what kind of support you require.
- Connecting: We can help you find the right service for your needs and set up a visit with them. We can also help you fill out some forms or applications.
Please Note: Community Resource Navigators are not social workers. They do not give counseling, manage cases, give legal advice, or handle emergencies. They give short, practical help. They connect you with community resources that fit your needs.
What We Help With
- Basic Needs: Finding food banks, utility bill help, or clothing.
- Housing: Finding shelters, low-cost rent options, or help paying for rent.
- Healthcare: Help with health insurance. Help finding doctors. Help finding mental health and wellness support.
- Employment and Education: Help looking for job training, childcare, or language classes.
Who Can Use This Service?
Anyone can use this free service.
This includes:
- People and families in financial need
- Older adults and caregivers
- Veterans
- New immigrants and refugees
- Job seekers
- People with disabilities
- People without a stable place to live
- Anyone who needs help with community services
Service Hours
Community Resource Navigator services are offered at the libraries listed below. During these hours you can walk in or make an appointment. To make an appointment, please contact the library you want to visit.
