Good News! You can now install the Libby App on your compatible Amazon Fire Tablet. Libby is compatible with Fire tablets from 2020 or later, plus some earlier models. Need help finding your Fire Tablet model? No worries, Amazon has a guide!
When you borrow a book on your Fire tablet, you'll have the option to read it in Libby itself, or, if you belong to a U.S. library, to send it to the Kindle reading app on your Fire tablet. Follow Libby's "Reading with Kindle" instructions for more help.
If you've already installed Libby on your Fire tablet using OverDrive's Android Package File (APK), you can continue using that installation of Libby. If you'd like to use Libby from the Amazon Appstore instead, Libby has a guide to make this switch.
Note: When you switch from the APK version to the Amazon Appstore version of Libby, you may lose some Libby data, including timeline activity, search history, and app customizations. You can export your timeline for your records before switching, if you'd like. You will not lose your loans, holds, or tags.
In addition, the Santa Clara County Library offers tutorials on how to use your Kindle with Libby!
