The Distinguished Author Series Kicks Off with Emily Chang

TV Anchor and Author Will Speak at the Campbell Heritage Theatre on Wednesday, September 14

WHAT:

The Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD) is honored to present the Distinguished Author Series. SCCLD welcomes three writers whose works spark thought-provoking ideas and conversations about topics ranging from the future of tech, to the connections between health, food and agriculture, to the works of a genre-jumping, bestselling author.

Emmy Award-winning journalist Emily Chang reports on global technology and media companies, startups, and the future of business. Her exposé Brotopia: Breaking Up the Boys’ Club of Silicon Valley (2018), sheds a bright, objective and journalistic light on the issue of gender gaps in Silicon Valley that have shut women out of the great wealth creation.

This conversation will be moderated by Santa Clara County Supervisor and Library JPA Governing Board Member Joe Simitian, who is a champion of individuals’ privacy and data security. Simitian has worked on legislation regarding data breach disclosure and notifications, online privacy protection and telephone record protection.
