Have you ever wondered what the Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD) children's rooms would look like if they were transformed into an enchanted children's storybook? You are about to find out! Details will be provided here for each library while under construction. LOS ALTOS LIBRARY: Coming 2026
The Children's Room will reopen starting Thursday, December 18. The Orchard Room remains closed to the public. Important preparation for the children’s early learning play space has been completed including new paint, new carpeting, shelving updates, and improved electrical wiring. We apologize; it has been closed longer than anticipated. There are many moving pieces in any construction project that affect schedules. Unfortunately, the children’s play space installation is delayed until Spring 2026.
Please enjoy some family-friendly additions to the children’s room including the EverBright interactive light wall, new books, new furniture, and activities in the interim. There is a special family-friendly surprise coming in late January. More information will follow!
