All SCCLD libraries will be closed on Monday, October 12 for Indigenous People's Day. As always, our digital collection and resources are available 24/7 at sccld.org/online-library.
The holiday focuses on the cultures and traditions of the many peoples who populated the Americas prior to first contact with European voyagers.
Our collection has a large number of titles about indigenous peoples, including many of the tribes native to California. Here in the Bay Area, the Ohlone or Tamien tribe inhabited the Santa Clara Valley.
Find more resources about this topic in our History, Genealogy, and Research and Discovery sections of the 24/27 Online Library.
