July is Park & Recreation Month – Celebrate Where You Belong

For nearly 40 years, Americans have celebrated national Park and Recreation Month every July. The National Recreation and Park Association, opens a new window has declared this year's theme Where you Belong as a reminder that parks help build dynamic and enduring communities, but they require our visitation, use, and care to thrive.

While there are numerous national parks that you may be lucky enough to visit, and breathtaking state parks in California that might just be on your bucket list, do yourself a favor and consider the amazing Santa Clara County parks right here in your own backyard as a means to get outside and celebrate this July with your family.

Our Santa Clara County Parks have events all summer long to get you excited about having an outdoor adventure. From their Hike the 100, opens a new window to Qigong and Tai Chi to In the Park After Dark (a program where participants get to watch movies in the park at night!), they definitely have a little something for everybody. Visit the Santa Clara County Parks, opens a new window website or follow them on Facebook, opens a new window or Instagram, opens a new window to discover all of their fun programs that will have you connecting with nature while reconnecting with your community.

And don’t forget we have State Park and County Park passes you can check out for free parking at eligible parks. Learn more about SCCLD Park Passes, opens a new window
