Santa Clara County Library District Partners with Bay FC to Offer New Library Cards

Two limited edition designs available during Library Card Sign-up Month

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD) is kicking off National Library Card Sign-up Month, opens a new window in September with a big assist from the Bay Area’s new National Women’s Soccer League team, Bay Football Club, opens a new window. Two original library card designs featuring the team’s logo will only be available through SCCLD libraries and Bookmobile to all residents.

“Watching the U.S. women’s soccer team win gold at the Paris Olympics was both exciting and inspiring,” said County Librarian Jennifer Weeks. “Now, SCCLD is delighted to join with another team of tremendous footballers, the women of Bay FC, to encourage our residents to come explore the library and the many free resources, programs and services that we offer. Bay FC and SCCLD are a dream pairing, on and off the field.”

Bay FC was founded by four U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team icons -- Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner, Danielle Slaton, and Leslie Osborne. Bay FC are in the middle of their inaugural season, opens a new window at PayPal Park in San José.

In Calendar Year 2023, SCCLD had over 373,000 library accounts, more than 1.2 million unique website visits, and a circulation of nearly 11.3 million items. Program attendance was over 183,000.
