SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – Santa Clara County residents of all ages are invited to walk or swim into a Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD) location during September to pick up one of two new limited edition design San Jose Sharks library cards. The cards will be available starting Tuesday, September 1 at all SCCLD libraries as well as the Bookmobile.
The library cards feature the San Jose Sharks brand new Turn it All Teal designs. The cards are currently available only through the Santa Clara County Library District. All ages are encouraged to have their own library card, and September is the best time to register.
“The San Jose Sharks are a beloved local franchise, and we are excited to partner with them to promote the value of a library account,” said County Librarian Jennifer Weeks. “Everyone should have a library card and now they have the perfect opportunity to be one of the first to get a limited-edition San Jose Sharks card.”
To mark this occasion, children of all ages and their families are invited to a special Storytime at the Cupertino Library at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8 featuring multiple surprise San Jose Sharks guests as part of the annual Sharks Around the Bay Tour, opens a new window. The Cupertino library is home to a 3,200-gallon saltwater aquarium, which was recently fully restored. Hundreds of colorful fish live in the patron-favorite tank (sorry SJ Sharkie, but the fish are for viewing only, not eating).
Library cards allow patrons full access to borrow both online and physical materials including books, items from the Library of Things, state and county park passes, and access to use the library computers. Digital eCards are also available to anyone who resides in Santa Clara County. Those provide access to our online resources like eBooks, Audiobooks, streaming movies and music, newspapers, magazines, and much more. From the best and latest books and magazines to valuable electronic resources that would cost thousands of dollars a year to access independently, libraries offer a wide variety of information, education, and entertainment free of charge. All that it takes is to sign up for a library account.
