September 16 is Voter Registration Day

SCCLD libraries will take part in Voter Registration Day, opens a new window on Tuesday, September 16. Your vote is your voice, and however you choose to use it our democracy does best when everyone takes part. All of our libraries have voter registration forms available. Just ask at the Information Desk. Several of our libraries are also holding Voter Registration Day events to encourage everyone to register to vote. Nonpartisan groups like the League of Women Voters will be on-hand to help people to register. Teens age 16 and 17 can pre-register to vote in the next election for when they will be 18.  

The Gilroy, Milpitas, Morgan Hill, and Saratoga libraries are scheduled to serve as Early Voting Centers, opens a new window for the upcoming November 4, 2025, Special Election starting on Saturday, November 1 (final schedule will be posted soon). This election features three topics: the election for the vacant, opens a new window County Assessor's office, a proposed 5/8 cent sales tax increase, opens a new window for Santa Clara County to help make up for recent cuts at the federal level, and a state legislature initiated call to redistrict, opens a new window California's U.S. House seats.
