Campbell Library Grand Opening

Santa Clara County Library District hosts celebration Saturday, May 9

The Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD) has a full slate of activities to enjoy as part of the grand opening of the Campbell Library on Saturday, May 9. There truly is something for everyone as visitors are welcome to this historic celebration.

Things kick off with a bang with a visit by a local group of lion dancers at 9:40am. The celebration officially begins at 10am with special guest speakers followed by a full day of entertainment, giveaways, crafts, tours, and much more.

  • 10:00am Grand opening event officially begins
  • 10:15am Doors open and lion dancers provide second performance
  • 11:00am Special storytime with Elephant and Piggie children's book characters
  • 11:00am Library tour
  • 11:30am Public art presentation with artist Sheri Simons
  • 12:00pm Family photos with Elephant and Piggie
  • 12:00pm Paper pinwheel craft with Silicon Valley Clean Energy
  • 1:00pm Bubble show by Clowning Around with Daisy
  • 1:00pm Library tour
  • 2:00pm Musical performance by Thee Organ Trio playing jazz, soul, funk, and R&B
  • 4:00pm Library tour

The library will be open until 6pm, so there is plenty of time during and after the planned events to explore the new library. This includes the sixth Storybook SCCLD children’s early learning play space, the Dreamy Downtown, featuring TowerBot. The library’s regular hours are Monday-Wednesday 10am to 9pm and Thursday-Sunday 10am to 6pm.
