Woodland Branch Library Expands Hours of Service

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – April 28, 2015 - Beginning Monday, May 4, 2015, Santa Clara County Library District’s (SCCLD) Woodland Branch Library, located at 1975 Grant Road, will open at 11 a.m. six days per week. The increase in hours will offer residents greater access to library services at the Woodland Branch.

Woodland Branch Library’s new open hours will be:

Monday:              11:00 am – 8:00 pm
Tuesday:              11:00 am – 8:00 pm
Wednesday:        11:00 am – 8:00 pm
Thursday:            11:00 am – 5:00 pm
Friday:                  11:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday:             11:00 am – 5:00 pm
Sunday:                            Closed

“We are very pleased to be able to expand library hours which will benefit local residents,” stated Judith Gregg, Community Librarian for the Los Altos Library and Woodland Branch.

“In addition to the increase in open hours, the Los Altos community will enjoy an updated, welcoming, family-friendly library that has been recently renovated” noted County Librarian, Nancy Howe.  “The investment Santa Clara County Library District, the City of Los Altos, the Friends of the Los Altos Library, and the Los Altos Library Endowment, have made in the renovation of this facility, coupled with the installation of new technology to improve library service, will enhance the library experience for local residents for many years to come,”  continued Howe.

New renovations include additional seating and tables, an Automated Materials Handling machine, central service area for visitors seeking account or reference information, updated furniture, new carpet and landscaping, larger book display area, new children’s early literacy technology, and an enhanced and inviting children’s area.
