STEAM Club Fun This Summer!

Join us for the STEAM Club for school-age children every other Tuesday at 3 pm at the SCCLD Facebook page starting June 8!  Our children's librarians have created these fun videos to show you how do to the activities.  Click on the titles of the programs below for additional information and a list of materials for you to do the projects too!

June 8 Kitchen Science-pH Colors Everyone loves to see a rainbow after it rains, but we do not get to see them very often. Learn how to make your own mini pH-color rainbow without any rain.
June 22 Amazing Tricks with Paper Can you walk through a piece of regular 8 1/2" by 11" paper? What is a Mobius stripe and what happens when you cut down the middle of it? Learn how to do some amazing things with paper and scissors!  
July 6 Create a Spectroscope Spectroscopes allow you to see how white light is made up of a whole spectrum of colors.  Come to this session to see how to make a spectroscope.  Special kits will be available while supplies last at the SCCLD libraries.
July 20 Make a Rainbow in a Jar Make a rainbow in a jar using stuff you probably already have around the house. And learn the science behind this remarkable display.
