On September 17th, best-selling author Terry Goodkind died at his Nevada home at the age of 72. Diagnosed with dyslexia, he spent years as an artist and woodworker before eventually trying his hand at writing. He also developed a love for auto racing, forming his own semi-pro racing team. In 1994 his first novel, 'Wizard's First Rule', was published. This was the start of his popular, long-running epic fantasy series The Sword of Truth. This series sold 25 million copies worldwide and was translated into over 20 languages. The last book in The Sword of Truth universe, "Heart of Black Ice", came out at the beginning of this year. This popular series was adapted into a television show, called 'Legend of the Seeker', which ran for two seasons. Terry also branched out by writing some contemporary suspense novels, the best known of which is "The Law of Nines" (which has a link to his fantasy series).
