No joke, current unemployment numbers are scary.  If you are recently unemployed due to the COVID-19 crisis and are seeking new employment, I encourage you to investigate our E-resource, Lynda.com  It’s available free of charge through the Santa Clara County Library District. All you need to get started is your library card or ecard and PIN.

Through Lynda.com, you can find many courses to improve your confidence and proficiency while working with programs like Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.  If you need a new job anyway,  why not use this time to consider employment in a field that has always interested you?   

 If you have a dream job in mind, but currently lack the required skills, Lynda offers beginning, intermediate and advanced video instruction for a wide variety of fields from accounting, animation, IT, marketing, music production through web graphics, and many more.  Take a short course to see if you enjoy the work, or a longer one for in-depth instruction. Lynda.com may help you gain the skills you need to find a new and better job than the one you had. Taking positive action is a great way to curb anxiety, and it costs you nothing to explore.
