Hello From the Bookmobile!
Our staff and vehicles will be going on Holiday Break for the weeks of December 22 and December 29. During this time, all stops will be cancelled. If your Bookmobile stop is scheduled during one of these two weeks, we will resume service on the week of January 5. Fourth Week of December will resume on the Second Week of January, and First Thursday and Friday of January will have service resume on January 19 and 20.
What is the Bookmobile and how does it work?
The Bookmobile is a service provided by the Santa Clara County Library District. We visit over fifty stops in our route, most stops get a visit twice a month from us. We focus on remote parts of the library district and on populations that would otherwise have difficulty getting to a library like senior homes and children at elementary schools. While on our vehicles, patrons are welcome to browse our collection or pick up holds they requested either in-person at a previous visit or online through our catalog.
If you see something in our catalog that you'd like to pick up in-person, do not hesitate to call us. Something important to note is that we do not carry our entire collection with us. We have two vehicles and a warehouse with shelves full of material. By calling us, we will hunt the item down for you and coordinate to have it at a Bookmobile stop near you.
