In the winter months, I get the urge to bake...and to watch shows about baking. My favorite show about baking has to be The Great British Baking Show (or by its original title: The Great British Bake-Off). I'm not alone; the show has become a worldwide phenomenon.
There is an entertaining, educational aspect to the show as techniques are well-explained and the reasons for success and failure are always discussed with wit, warmth, and good pacing. Here is an example of the technical challenge, which is part of every episode, which manages to be both instructive and suspenseful.
