Famed Director of the ’80s and ’90s Passes Away

Renowned moviemaker Joel Schumacher, who directed such iconic movies in the 1980s and 1990s as St. Elmo' Fire and The Lost Boys, lost his battle with cancer on Monday, June 22nd. Schumacher had a long, successful career directing such stars as Nicolas Cage, Anthony Hopkins, Robert Duvall, and Demi Moore. Many of his films can be found in SCCLD's collection, such as Falling Down, Phonebooth, Veronica Guerin, and Flatliners. Just go to sccld.org  and search the catalog by author. More recently he directed a couple episodes of the Netflix tv series House of Cards in 2013.
