Expanded Library Access Starting Monday, April 19

Welcome back to the Library!

It's National Library Week and this year's theme is "Welcome to your Library". It's perfect timing and we're happy to announce that on Monday, April 19, SCCLD will expand our open spaces to patrons. With Santa Clara County under the Orange Tier of the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy, opens a new window plan, patrons will soon be able to enjoy expanded building access with up to 50% occupancy starting April 19. We look forward to Welcoming you to the Library!

Visitors will be able to browse the full library collection and enjoy computer and printing services at Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Milpitas, Morgan Hill and Saratoga Libraries* Monday-Saturday from 1 - 6 p.m. Programs will remain virtual.

Library modifications have been made for the health and safety of our patrons and staff:

-Patrons are asked to limit their stay to one hour

-Patrons must be COVID-19 symptom free, wear a face covering and maintain social distance.

-Hand sanitizer is available to patrons as they enter and exit the library.

-Seating and available public computers are limited to encourage social distancing and brief visits.

Each library has self-service machines to check out items. Patrons will need to have their library card with them, or know their library card number and PIN to use the self-check machines. Patrons can call (408) 540-3945 for assistance to reset your PIN if needed.

Patrons may still arrange for contactless curbside service at all Community Libraries, where a staff member will bring a patron’s hold items to their vehicle. Appointments can be made online or by calling (408) 540-3947. Account and reference service will continue by phone, email, or chat. All additional updates about SCCLD services are available at sccld.org/informed.

*Campbell Library, in anticipation of its move to a temporary location later this spring, will continue to provide curbside and walkup service Monday-Saturday. In partnership with the City of Campbell, plans for the full library renovation move forward and library services will be relocated to a temporary facility, conveniently located in the Campbell Community Center. More details will be provided at a later date. Woodland Library will remain closed.
