Babies have a lot to say, even when they can't use spoken language to express themselves. Baby sign language, which is based on American Sign Language, can help parents and caregivers communicate with their babies until little ones are ready to develop spoken words.
Babies 0-12 months and their parents or caregivers are welcome to join us on Friday mornings in June (June 5, 12, 19, 26) at 11:30 a.m. for a Baby Sign Language Storytime offered by expert Stefanie Jatta. Miss Stefanie has been offering Baby Sign Storytimes at several County libraries over the past years, and we are thrilled to have her join us in the Zoom format. You can register online here.
Here are a couple of ebooks about American Sign Language and baby sign to give you background information. We look forward to seeing you and your baby during the month of June!
