Shape Your Future: Take the Census

The results of the 2020 Census will help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year. The results also determine the number of seats in Congress each state gets.

Take advantage of this once-in-a-decade opportunity to teach your children about the importance of the Census and sneak in some statistics lessons too. The U.S. Census Bureau's web portal "Statistics in Schools" provides Pre-K through 12th grade activities designed specifically for the 2019-2020 school year and the 2020 Census. The activities highlight the importance of making sure everyone is counted, especially children. Consider how this may affect your community and your personal finances by viewing this Santa Clara County Library District's Census Page

The Library's Census Page also includes a fun "Count Me In Activity".  Guess how many people are in the jar, and see how your guess compares to others' votes!
